Realist - Contradictions in ILK
Inspired by the ancient Buddhist incense ceremonies in Japan. This scent story follows a monk’s journey up a mountain and captures his enlightened spirit as the moon slips away giving rise to morning. Exploring the olfactory passage from cold night to daybreak and the effect it has on the smell of the crisp mountain air, forest trees, and the few belongings he’s brought with him - including a yuzu and his incense for prayer.
Japanese yuzu citrus invigorated by fresh transparent ozonic notes, tickled by vetiver, pepper and black tea then crispened by the clearness of cedar and the creamy lemon of hinoki woods. A cleansing scent for the soul and sharpener for the mind.
